I am Hannah! I have been married to my college sweetheart for going on 2 and a half years. Funny story, we went to the same college, but actually met on a spring break trip to Florida. It was love at first sight because we have been together ever since.
We have three fur children, Maggie an 86 pound chocolate lab, and 2 cats named, Elvis and Priscilla Pursley. (spoiler alert: I am a crazy pet mom, so don’t be concerned if you see one too many pictures of them).
The name for my blog came from my life growing up on a farm in the Delta. Jumper’s Corner was the little country road named after my dad’s grandfather. Most of our family lived and farmed on Jumper’s Corner. So much of who I am came from living on that road. I learned how to work hard by watching my dad, Papaw Jumper, and every other man in the family work the rice and wheat fields from sun up to sun down, never complaining. I learned how to take something average and see the beauty in it by watching my mom and all of the women in my family turn a little brick farmhouse into a home. On Jumper’s Corner is where I picked up a paint brush for the first time in my Aunt Betty’s little studio and fell in love with creating something from nothing. My Aunt Deb taught me how to make a pie so pretty it should be on the cover of Southern Living Magazine. This is where I learned to have faith in something bigger than myself. It is where I learned the value of family and to always cherish your time with with them. When I was 12 we drove away from that little brick farmhouse and moved across the state. Even though my address is no longer Jumper’s Corner my heart still calls it home. That is where my roots were planted and it is where I draw my inspiration.
